Clarkfield / Boyd Police Department (merged / disbanded)

This changed. The City of Clarkfield's own official department directory (clarkfield.org/1217/Departments) no longer lists a Police Department at all -- it lists a 'Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Department' in its place alongside Ambulance, Fire, Library, etc. The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office page (co.ym.mn.gov/sheriff) confirms directly: 'The Sheriff's Office contracts with the City of Clarkfield for Law Enforcement Services,' and separately names only Canby, Granite Falls, and the Upper Sioux Community as still having independent departments (Clarkfield/Boyd is conspicuously absent from that list). Boyd, MN's own tiny city site (cityofboydminnesota.com) has no police information at all and Boyd is actually located in neighboring Lac qui Parle County. Third-party aggregators (Discover Policing, USACOPS, MapQuest) still show a 'Clarkfield-Boyd Police Department' at 1029 10th Ave, Clarkfield with a chief named and phone 320-669-7322, but these appear to be stale/unmaintained listings contradicted by the two official government sources above. Current coverage for the area is the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office, main line 320-564-2130.
