Fountain Police Department (merged / disbanded)

This changed. Fountain no longer has its own department. The City of Fountain's own site (fountainmn.org/city-departments.html) now lists 'Police Department/Ambulance: City of Preston.' This matches Fillmore County Journal reporting that Fountain's one-man department (former Chief Tom Mosher) was phased out and the city contracted with the Preston Police Department (which also covers Lanesboro) rather than the county sheriff. Preston PD daytime office: 507-765-2153; current Preston chief is Blaise Sass.
