Ortonville Police Department (merged / disbanded)

This changed. The Ortonville Police Department disbanded on August 31, 2022, per then-Police Chief Jason Mork's own public announcement, as reported by KSTP-TV (5 Eyewitness News, 'Police departments closing in rural Minnesota amid officer shortage,' April 20, 2023). The City of Ortonville's own website (mnortonville.com) no longer lists a police department in its navigation and its old /police/ page now 404s (last archived live in an October 2022 Wayback Machine snapshot). Law enforcement for Ortonville is now provided by the Big Stone County Sheriff's Office.
